Derek has been helping clients conservatively manage their portfolios for over 20 years.
Derek was born and raised in Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1996 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and obtained his CFP designation in 1999. With over 20 years of industry experience, including 9 years with a major bank-owned brokerage firm, the main focus of his practice is on retirement income planning and conservative wealth management.
Derek is a former competitive curler turned curling volunteer and an 11-time provincial participant losing the 2004 provincial mixed final. He was Chair of the 2011 Ford Men’s World Curling Championship and is an active and proud member of the Royal Regina Golf Club.
Derek’s wife Tracy is a teacher and together they have two daughters—Paige and Hailey—as well as the family pup Tucker. The family can be found at the rink for ringette in the winter and at their family cabin at Elbow in the summer.
